FYI: This photo and description were posted about a year and a half ago on another site, it is a little dated but the meaning is still the same.
Broomfield, Colorado
The title may not mean a thing to a lot of you but it does for my family and myself. I was going to my parents house and I noticed this sunset. It was fabulous! I have a secret spot that I love to photograph from and decided to visit it before going to visit my mom & dad.
July 4th, means more to me than the independence of the United States--this day was the day I took my mother to the hospital, we found out she had cancer. Now, two years later, she is well and has been in remission for a year and a half. I believe God gives us signs of everything being okay and to me, this was one of them.
When my mom was first diagnosed with stage four colon cancer, we were given a rainbow over our home. This was something my mom believed very strongly to be the sign of God telling her to, "hang in there." And this photo seems as if God is painting the sky, showing me he is still watching over us.
Now, two years later, I see this mural in the sky and I think of my mom -- I love her and I don't know what I would have done had she not been able to make it through.
This photo is for my mom, to let her know I still love her and to also let God know, thank you, I do pay attention.
As for the photo specs. this is a panorama too. 4 images stitched together. I used my 100-300 f4.5-5.6 Pentax lens.
